What our foundation represents:

What Caras Alegres wants to achieve is inherent in its name: Happy Faces. We want to help the women and children of this community to be able, if just for a while, to forget all of the trouble and poverty surrounding them. We strive to help them to create situations that allow them to feel this way. It is our hope that they will gain strength from being together and having a positive outlook towards life.

The projects are directed towards helping women and children gain knowledge and discernment. We do not want to create dependence with the population. Because, in the end, they are responsible for the well being of their own country.

The most important objective to follow these considerations is:
To promote and improve the general well-being and the social position of women and children who live on the poverty line, and because of this have found themselves in difficult living situations.

The realization:

Caras Alegres runs small-scale projects, which are being established in a direct and personal manner and accompanied with the necessary experience and expertise. The donations received actually go to the people who are in need. Apart from this the people and means of the country will be called upon as much as possible, to improve the economic situation.

To gain a more stable and diverse base the foundation is working alongside other organizations such as: Foundation EDELAC Netherlands en Foundation Los Ninos.
Moreover we are working to make the foundation more widely known through internet and other media.

Beside these mainly practical matters the foundation sets objectives of discussing the needs of the women and the children with much love and attention. The activities and meetings are adapted on this. Moreover the values and standards of the culture and traditional aspects are taken into account.
